Jack and I had been friends for years. We grew up in the same neighborhood just a few streets over from each other. The neighborhood kids would always hangout together on the weekends. We dated in middle school for about a minute and decided we were better friends. Jack and I ended up going to different high schools for freshman and sophomore year, but we had so many mutual friends, we would see each other all the time. During our junior year, I transferred to Cardinal Newman School where Jack went to school. We had already been hanging out a lot more this year as we played for the same club soccer team and would carpool together 3 times a week. During these car rides together, Jack and I discovered how much we both love music and the pivotal role it played in both our lives, how much we both loved the beach and wanted to live in Charleston when we were older and that we both wanted to have a dog one day named Taco. I always remember these car rides to soccer practice as when we started to fall in love with each other.
We became best friends and spent all of our time together at school, soccer and the weekends. We both tried to deny that we had feelings for each other but our friends knew and they we’re the ones that told us we were crazy to not be together. Jack asked me to be his girlfriend on November 30th 2013, and the rest is history! Jack and I have literally grown up together and we have always been best friends. Through the rest of high school, college, post grad, starting our careers, Jack and I have been there for each other through it all. It’s been even more special to see our families grow up with us. Getting to be a part of Jack’s younger siblings lives from such an early age is something I am eternally grateful for. Jack was there while my brother met, got engaged and married his beautiful wife. Both Jack and I have been shown what true love is by both our parent's example and we are so thankful to them as this next exciting chapter starts!
We have been so blessed to have already had so much time together and I am so happy that we get to love each other forever. Oh, and I must give a special shout out and thank you to Wild Turkey.
